What is disc golf?

Disc golf is sometimes referred to as Frolf because it has similar rules to golf, but in this case, you’re throwing a flying disc or a frisbee at a target. To win in disc golf, you need to obtain the lowest number of scores or total throws. Finishing with one throw under par or one less throw than par is basically what birdie in disc golf means. They are hard to get and are celebrated when reached. When you finish a par-3 hole with two throws, you’ve made a birdie. An eagle, on the other hand, is different.

So to have a birdie you are to score in the following manner:

•When on par-3 hole, score a 2

•When on par-4 hole, score a 3

• When on par-5 hole, score a 4

What is the toughest and why?

Scoring in a par-3 hole is the toughest as you have only two moves. However, if you can make it in par-3, the excitement is awesome. Scoring a birdie in par 4 is easier and it is comfortable for par 5 hole. For example, in a par-5 hole, you have 4 moves to leverage and it is easy to compensate if any effort misses expected target.

Birdie is difficult but not impossible. You may achieve anything with efforts and tricks by experienced disc golfers. Here are some tricks you should try:

o  Par: 

Par is the number of throws in disc golf that you are to finish a hole. Par is also the scoring term for when a discover throws the exact number of throws to complete the hole. For example, you finish a par-3 hole in three throws.

o  Basket/Target:

It is where you throw the flying disc or Frisbee.

o  Hole: 

Disc golf is played on a course with 9 or 18 holes. You should note there is no hole in disc golf. It just a term from golf. Each hole on a course has a par rating, e.g., par-3, par-4, or par-5, and these ratings indicate how many throws a disc golfer would need to finish the hole. For a hole with a par-5 rating, it means you would need five throws to make par or to complete the hole.

o  Tees: 

This is also referred to as a box or a tee box. It is where the hole starts from. Its standard size is between 5 or 6 feet wide and 8 or 15 feet long. i.e., 5’x8’ or 6’x12’.

o  Deuce: 

It happens when you finish a hole in only two shots.

o  Ace:

It arises when you complete the hole with your first throw.

o  Albatross:

Disc golfer score by throwing just once on a par-4 hole and achieving your target. It is also dubbed double eagle.

o  Bogie:

It is when you finish a hole with one throw more than par.

Eagle in disc golf?

Scoring an eagle is not so different from a birdie. Where a birdie is one score under par, an eagle is two scores under par. It’s hard to achieve consistently and very challenging. If you want to score an eagle on a par-4 hole, it means you have to score a 2. Now let’s move on to what a lie is in disc golf.

Lie in disc golf?

The lie is where you must stand next, where the disc from your previous throw or shot landed. This is where you will make your next throw of the disc. You mark this spot by turning the disc you just threw upside down or with a smaller disc.
